Laura, having a bachelors degree in fine arts from the Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, gained an appreciation for the art of food as a teenager and while attending a culinary management program at George Brown College. From a young age, Laura has managed to pursue and cultivate these two art forms simultaniously. At the age of 16, Laura began to travel, casually, in Germany, France, Spain and Italy, to educate herself in fine arts. Having traveled in countries where good food was so important, she opened herself to discovering the fine art of food. What she learned was the power of food lay in it's ability to nuture. Laura's chance discoveries and search for perfection, have now become her passion. Her strength lies in her ability to commit to ideas and transform them into both, visual arts and edible delights. For the past two years, she has devoted her energies to sweets, as head of pastry at Susur, in Toronto's West End, as well as pursuing an ongoing series of book arts projects. Laura, has recently teamed up with Robert and Matt to design and create edible arts for the upcoming event, edges at PAPERspace studio. .
